What we collect
When you use Barback, we collect:
- Account information (name, email address) provided at signup
- Restaurant operational data you connect or upload (POS sales, labor schedules, invoices, menu items)
- Usage data (which features you use, actions you take in the product)
- Payment information processed securely through Stripe (we never store card numbers)
- Communications you send to our support team
How we use your data
- To provide the Barback service — detecting signals, generating insights, and powering the Ask Barback AI
- To send operational emails (trial updates, billing receipts, support responses)
- To improve the product and fix issues
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your data. We do not use your restaurant data to train shared AI models without your consent.
Third parties we use
- Clerk — authentication and user management
- Stripe — payment processing and billing
- Anthropic — AI inference for signal narration and Ask Barback (data is not used to train Anthropic models under our enterprise agreement)
- Neon — database hosting (data stored in US-East)
- Vercel — application hosting
- Resend — transactional email delivery
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you cancel your subscription, we retain your data for 90 days before deletion, giving you time to export anything you need.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@barback.ai. We will respond within 30 days.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe and never touches our servers.
